8.) Sometimes You Just Feel Like Hiding

This week for me has been a busy one. Both of my jobs have been kaotic and school is the same. Also, my daughter keeps me going with her band stuff and school. On that note, if anyone wants to hear a great high school bands, the State Band Competition is going on in Pearl this Saturday.
Even though this week has been busy the Lord has blessed me by giving me the strength and energy to work through it. I know that without Him I would have fallen out along time ago. He is truly an awesome God.
So just remember that when things seem tough He is always there for us. If you need answers to problems just ask Him for the solution. We might not always like the answer but He is always right.
May you all have a blessed and safe weekend.

7.) Community Service Project

Last week I did my Community Service project at Gateway Thrift Store in Clinton. The store itself was small and narrow. At Gateway they have household items, clothes, shoes, toys, and many other items.
When I was at Gateway I helped Mesha and Tracy put items out to be sold. I also straightened the clothes and shoes. When I was straightening things I noticed the different types of people that shop there. These people range from young to old, black and white, male and female. The income of the shoppers range from low income to well off.
While doing my Community Service Project at Gateway, I was reminded of an old saying " one man's junk is another man's treasure." Here is a note to anyone who needs household items or even clothes, go to Gateway and look before you go to a department store.
I know this blog is pretty sad this week but I've been pretty busy this week. Sorry!!!

6.) Blessed

As I was sitting in my car between classes on Thursday I realized what a blessing it is to be alive. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and I could hear the children playing at the daycare.
While I sat there for some time I thought about all the blessings that I have in my life. My daughter is the biggest and most important one. I thank God that He has given me a healthy, smart and beautiful child. Another blessing is my family and friends. My other gifts from God is the ability to pay my bills, put clothes on my childs back, keep a roof over our head, and that I have a job(2 actually). Oh ya, the ability to go back to school too. God has given me so much to be thankful for. I even have to thank Him for the two jobs because that is what pays the my bills. Now a days that is a blessing because some individuals don't have that choice or ability.
My question to you is have you thanked God today? What gifts has God blessed you with?

5.) We are Never Alone

All week I have been thinking about what to write about in my blog. I decided to share a poem that helps remind me that I am never alone in my day to day struggles.

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
" You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"

The Lord replied,
" The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
is when I carried you."

Mary Stevenson

I truly believe that the Lord carries us when we are having troubles. I also think that he never gives us more then what we can handle. Just pray and God will give you an answer.
