All week I have been thinking about what to write about in my blog. I decided to share a poem that helps remind me that I am never alone in my day to day struggles.
Footprints in the Sand
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord,
" You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"
The Lord replied,
" The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
is when I carried you."
Mary Stevenson
I truly believe that the Lord carries us when we are having troubles. I also think that he never gives us more then what we can handle. Just pray and God will give you an answer.

I haven't read that poem in a while. I really like it, and I'd like to thank you for posting it. The statements in the poem are just one of those things that I never remember when I'm going through bad times.
I really like this poem. It has brought me through so many rough times with relationships that I have gone through. I agree with you and believe that God will never give us anything or more than what we can handle. Everything he places in our lives is what He knows we can do. We just make up excuses to why we can not do the things He knows we can. Thank you for the post.
i like this poem!

I totally agree with what you said about the poem. I've read this poem before but haven't read it in a while. It's a great a poem and I think it's great that related to it.
